Thank you Dr. Matsuda!
His explanation about my hip joint current condition, surgery, and all was easy to understand.
I liked that he dated with me while time when I talked to his secretary and told me to call him directly if I have any concerns.
I feel that I can trust him without heritage.

Dr. Matsuda is a 10 out of 10. Besides being a top surgeon, he has been the only Dr. who has taken the time to personally review my entire medical history and 10+ years of MRIs and exams to create a get well plan for me. He is OUTSTANDING. - Eduardo

I am from Dubai and I have struggled for 6 years to find out what is wrong with my hips.
Dr Matsuda was so professional he explained the process of the surgery to me and his team was so caring
to an extent that I was worry-less before and during the surgery.
Now I can play soccer twice a week finally! and I can do all kind of other sports as well!
I had a hip laboral tear and now it feels absloutley normal after 6 months of following the physio
program provided my Dr Matsuda.
Thank you is not enough... it was a life changing point for me and I am glad I took this decesion.
I wish Dr.Matsuda and his team the very best!
Kind Regards all the way from Dubai!

Dean gave me my life back. I have a rare bone deformity in both hips which tore both hip cartilage and caused impingements; Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).
I am grateful beyond words to have been referred to Dr. Dean Matsuda; one of three docs in the country to fix my cartilage and shave the bones down arthroscopically. Dean patented the machine that shaves the bone down and he travels the world teaching his gifted skill.
My right hip has a cadaver that was graphed into the torn cartilage. I couldn't sit more than 10 minutes with bone rubbing on bone.
Both hip surgeries went exceptionally well because of Dean knowledge & exceptional expertise.
Dean gives old fashioned caring service. Appointments with Dean are mind blowing they are so through. Deans bedside manner are gentle and true caring. You can email him day or night and he will answer. No question is too much or silly. Dean also calls the day of surgery himself to follow up.
Dr. Matsuda is the best physician & surgeon I have ever had.
Ginny, Dean's assistant is outstanding in her caring, communication, responses and follow up. They make an outstanding team!
*MAHALO* Dean for truly giving me my life back and for really caring.

Dr. Matsuda performed arthroscopic hip surgery on my 15-year old son last week...a year-round baseball player. It was a complicated case where he repaired a fracture in the acetabular rim with a screw; repaired an injured labrum; and, sculpted the femur to eradicate a large cam deformity so that there is no impingement when putting his hip through the extremes of athletic hip range of motion. I did an enormous amount of research and had my son meet with four hip specialist. In the end, we felt certain that Dr. Matsuda was the right choice given both his experience as well as his outstanding reputation in hip arthroscopy. My son is doing well and has virtually no pain just one week after surgery. Lastly, I have never come across a surgeon that is willing to spend so much time educating a patient, and who truly puts the care of his patients above all other factors. I highly recommend Dr. Matsuda!

I had been dealing with my hip pain for a very long period. I was frustrated and tired. Many nights of lost sleep due to re-occurring pain. Finally I made the choice to seek a professional review of my situation.
In my initial appointment with Dr Matsuda was fantastic, he was very understanding of my current situation given he has been through the surgery himself. This was reassuring to me as he knew exactly what I was feeling and I found comfort that.
We spent over an hr going through the MRI and X-Rays outlining my potential options for a path going forward. Dr Matsuda explained my situation without the medical jargon he explained my position in a way that made sense to me. I had a large tear in my right labrum and a impingement.
Any surgery is a big decision to make and at no time did I feel pressured into making the decision. Actually quite the opposite.
After the initial consultation, I had many more questions which I relayed via email and Dr Matsuda responded swiftly himself to those question. I believe that service is second to none. Again, this all the while making me feel more and more comfortable in making the right choice to go ahead with surgery and so I did after much consideration.
The night before my surgery, obviously anxious I received an email from Dr Matsuda stating "Tom, I hope your well and I wanted to let you know you will be in good hands tomorrow".
I have had other surgeries before and this level of reassurance is something I have never experienced.
The procedure went as planned, after the procedure I met with Dr Matsuda again reaffirming everything is okay. Being an outpatient surgery, I was home that night and received a phone call from Dr Matsuda checking in on me and going over my rehabilitation, pain levels and so on. I was amazed he called to check in with me. He didn't have to but he did and as stated before being a patient that has just been through a considerable surgery. It is very comforting position to be in, it really felt as though he cared and I was just not another patient.
As for my hip and the outcome, everything is on track. The pain that once was has gone and I now continue to live a better lifestyle.
I can't thank Dr Matsuda enough and was very lucky to have met with him. Anyone in a similar position to me, don't hesitate. There is light at the end of the tunnel and Dr Matsuda will assist you in getting there.
